My Bookish Life Book Review: Milk & Honey

Hello and how are you all doing? I hope you are having a good day. My day has been alright. I have mostly just been at the house cleaning. So yeah nothing has really happened today.    My husband is cooking dinner and while he cooks dinner I want to try to finish my blog work for the weekend. I am going to get a drink and then I will be starting on this. I hope I can make it a good one. Title: Milk & Honey Author: Rupi Kaur Genre: Poetry Pages: 208 Rating: 2 stars Synopsis: Milk & Honey is a collection of poetry and prose about survival. About the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femineity. My thought's on the book: Ok this is probably going to be controversial but, I didn't love this book. I know it gets a lot of good reviews but, this one just didn't grab me. I was disappointed in that too because I really thought it had potential because it sounded good.   To be honest I think her words fell flat. That lead to writing th...

My Bookish Life: May Reading Wrap Up

Hello everybody and good morning to you! I hope you guys are doing good . I am doing pretty good so far today. I wanted to go ahead and work on my blog this morning because I do have several things I have to do today. I had a very good reading month in May! I actually finished my TBR for the first time in a long time! I have 4 books to talk about this morning so lets do this ! 1. Lets Spend The Night Together: Backstage Secrets of Super Groupies and Muses Author: Pamela Des Barres Pages: 400 Genre: Non-fiction Rating: 3 stars         My thoughts on the book: This was recommended to me by my friend Mary. I thought it was an ok read. I like rock and roll stories so of course I thought it was ok.  I did get some people mixed up because of how many different people were in it but, the people in it and there stories were interesting. I would be interested in checking out the books some of the people in this book have written! 2. Title: Illuminated Poems ...

My Bookish Life: Book Review: Illuminated Poems

Good morning everyone! How are you all doing this morning? I hope all of you are having a good morning. I have my coffee ready and I'm excited to write this review so lets do this! Title: Illuminated Poems Author: Allen Ginsberg  Artist: Eric Drooker Genre: Poetry Pages: 144 Rating: 3 stars    Synopsis: Illuminated Poems is the collaboration between two visionaries from different generations: Beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Eric Drooker , an artist of the metropolis whose images reflect life at the turn of the millennium. Illuminated Poems contains two previously unpublished works, an introduction by Allen Ginsberg and 34 poems written between 1948 - 1996 including Howl in it's entirety .   My thoughts on the book: I thought this book was just ok over all. I just don't think some of the poems picked for this were some of Ginsberg's best writings. Howl was good, it always is, and I liked Capital Air but, a lot of the others just fall flat. Most...

Hello everybody ! I hope you all are having a good day. Mine has been good but busy. I just finished my cleaning and baking so now I want to share my TBR with you all like I said I would do earlier. Just so you all know this ended up being a night time edition of Bookopolly (I got excited about what my TBR could be) and that's why some of my pictures look like this.  So lets post the results for Bookopolly Roll #1: My first roll was a six which lands me on Friend Pick . For this space I texted my friend Mary and let her pick me a book to read . So this is what she picked!          Let's Spend The Night Together : Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Super Groupies by Pamela Des Barres.  I should like this one I normally like rock star stories. I have already started reading it and it's not bad so far .  Bookopolly Roll #2    Ok roll #2 was a 7 which puts me on Amazon Wish List. How that space works is I pick a b...
