My Bookish Life Book Review: Little Heaven

Hello how have you guys been? I hope you all have been good. I know it's been a bit since I have talked to you all but, my work has been super crazy because of the holidays. So that's what's been happening there. I do hope to get a lot of work done on my blog soon though.        Now though, I have finally finished Little Heaven by Nick Cutter and I want to do a review on it . So, I'm doing that this morning. I have my coffee and I'm ready so lets do this! Title: Little Heaven Author: Nick Cutter Genre: Horror/Sci-fi Pages: 475 Rating: 3 stars Synopsis: A trio of mismatched mercenaries is hired by a young woman for a deceptively simple task: check in on her nephew who may have been taken against his will to a backwoods New Mexico settlement called Little Heaven. Shortly after they arrive things turn ominous. Stirrings in the woods over the tree tops - the brooding shape of a monolith  known as the Black Rock casts a terrible pall...

My Bookish Life : October TBR

Hello and how are you guys doing? I'm super tired because kiddo kept us up a lot of the night and then I had to go into work today. So yeah I'm exhausted and running on caffeine. That being said I want to get this TBR up because I have been planning it for awhile.       All of that being said, no Bookopolly this month and maybe no Bookopolly next month. I wanted to pick out just spooky books for the fall season and that's pretty much what I have done. Also, this TBR list is for both this month and next month most likely because what I don't finish this month I'm going to keep reading next month. So now lets get to the book list! 1. The Adventures of Little Bean by Ageno H. Monica  This is a children's book and it was given to me by the author to review. My kiddo and I are going to make a story time out of it tomorrow and I should have a review up either tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning something like that. I hope it's good, it lo...

My Bookish Life: Bar and Book Case Tag

Hello folks how are you guys? I totally want to have some fun tonight so I want to do what sounds like a totally fun book tag on the blog . The tag I'm doing is the Bar and Book Case book tag . How the tag works is that there are several different alcoholic drinks listed and there is a book prompt to go with every listed drink. This is kind of like a book recommendation list too.        Since this post is alcohol related and I want to have some fun tonight I'm also having a drink while I create this post.      I'm drinking a wine called 19 Crimes. It says it's a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm not really a wine drinker so I don't know if this is a red wine or anything like that . I have been wanting to try 19 Crimes for awhile now though because I'm a fan of true crime and all of their wine labels have this augmented reality thing where you can use your phone to scan the label and the gu...

My Bookish Life: November TBR/Bookopoly Round 1

Hello everybody! How are you all doing? I hope you are all having a good day. Mine has been really good so far. I went to the gym this morning and I feel really good like I've been killing it today. The kiddo is asleep so I thought I would post my November TBR and show you guys the surprise I have been telling you all I was going to debut on my blog this month!          Ok so I'm no longer really doing a TBR jar I got tired of it and decided I wanted to change things up. Instead of that , I'm now going to be playing a game called Bookopoly every month. My TBR jar isn't completely going away it does have a space on the board so you will see it again eventually. How this game works is each board space is a different reading prompt/category and I have to pick a book that fits the prompt/category of the space I land on . Also, if I role doubles or land on add a book I role twice instead of once . ...
