My Bookish Life: Birthday Book Haul!

Hello how are all of you today? My day has been really busy so far  but it has been alright.  The weather is really nice here too ! I hope you all are having a good day too !    As I mentioned yesterday, my birthday was Monday. I had a nice small birthday party with my family . It was a really good time! I got several books as gifts and I wanted to discuss them with you all.    1. Title : Ancient Secrets of A Master Healer Author: Clint G. Roger's, Ph D Genre: Self Help maybe? Pages: 306 My thoughts: I think the book sounds pretty interesting. Part of the synopsis says you are following a researcher as he travels the Himalayas and uncovers secrets from an ancient healing lineage that began with Buddah's physician.  I think that sounds really interesting.  Also, it has questions that you are supposed to answer at the end of each chapter that I think are about you so it's kind of like a journal too and I like that.  2. Title: Married Room Mates: How to Go From a Rela

My Bookish Life Book Review: Carried Away

Hello you guys! How are you all? I hope everybody is having a good day! The kiddo woke up at about mid-night last night and never really went back to sleep so I am exhausted . Not to mention it's been a long day house work and going to the gym. Hopefully he sleeps all night tonight!                With that being said though I do want to get this book review done today . Kiddo is watching Blue's Clues so I am going to try to get this up while he is being good. Let's get to the book shall we? Title: Carried Away: A Kairotic Story Author: E.L. Haines Genre: YA Horror with some comedy Pages: 169 Rating: 4 Stars Synopsis: In the midst of a deadly global disease, sometimes it's hard to say which is worse: the pandemic or the pandemonium.                      Sparrow is visiting Italy, just trying to enjoy a decent pizza, when the locals start dropping dead from a mysterious disorder. Soon he is caught up in rampant rumors, a panicking population, and a co

My Bookish Life: The Crow Waking Nightmares

Hello everybody! How are you all doing ? I hope you all are having a nice night. I have had a pretty good day. The kiddo is in bed and I want to get my next review up . So lets get to this shall we!     Title: The Crow: Waking Nightmares  Authors:  Christopher Golden and James O'Farrell Pages: 107 Genre: Graphic Novel Rating : 3 stars  Synopsis: Can a crow pursue only vengeance,  or can he act to save the living? NYC cop  Mark Leung contemplates this question from the other side after he and his wife are murdered by the Triads, who then take their twin daughters captive.  My thoughts on the book: The story is a decently good one. You get sucked in right away . However,  it isn't one of the best Crow stories though.             One thing that I feel really held this graphic novel back to me was the artwork . It doesn't bother me that it was in black and white it's just that a lot of the characters looked the same and it wasn't very detailed.  I just didn&

Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and there is nothing- not even a smear of blood- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?                   This is Clary's first meeting
