My Bookish Life: December Reading Wrap Up

Tomorrow is the last day of the month so I thought I would go ahead and post my reading wrap up for this month. It hasn't been a bad reading month but some of the books were better than others. Without further ado lets get into this break down.    The first book I read this month was The Rise of the Fourth Reich by Jim Marrs. I didn't particularly like this one . It actually kinda bogged me down.                          Pages: 439             Rating: I think I gave it 2.5 stars                   After that I read Sleep Writer by Keith Robinson. It's a YA sci-fi type of book and I thought it was a pretty fun read. It was one of the better books I've read this month.                    Pages: 206                    Rating: 4 stars         The next book I read this month was a reread and it was The Drawing of The Three : The Dark Tower II by Stephen King . It was my favorite book I read this month and I'm really not surprised because

My Bookish Life : Christmas Book Haul and The Drawing of The Three Book Review

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are having a merry Christmas! I know I had a really good one!     I think I want to start this article off by talking about some books that I got for Christmas. Then after that I'm going to review The Drawing of The Three by Stephen King. So let's get started! 1. Given to me by : My mother-in-law Title: The Institute Author : Stephen King Synopsis: The playground was surrounded by a chain link fence at least ten feet high, and Luke saw cameras peering down at two of the corners. They were dusty, as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while . Beyond the fence there was nothing but forest, mostly pines... Whatever the Institute was, it was in the middle of an over grown forest, which meant in the middle of nowhere. As for the play ground itself, Luke's first thought was that if there was ever a prison yard for kids between the ages of six and sixteen, it would look exactly like this. Thoughts on the gift: I'm

My Bookish Life: Merry Christmas!

Before everything gets crazy again I wanted to wish all my readers a Merry Christmas! I hope it goes wonderfully for each and everyone of you! I also hope my painting is legible. Some of the paint didn't work in the way I thought it would.        Reading Update:     So right now I'm reading The Drawing of The Three by Stephen King and London by Frank Tayell at the same time. As hard as I'm trying I don't think I'm going to be able to complete my TBR this month. There are two books that may have to wait till next month. It's just gotten supper crazy because of the holidays. Hopefully, I will be back with more book reviews next week!      That's it for this update. If you like my content please give my blog a follow. I will talk to you all later!

My Bookish Life Book Review: The Rise of The Fourth Reich

Title: The Rise of The Fourth Reich            Author: Jim Marrs  Genre: Conspiracy            Pages: 439 Rating: 2.5 stars        Synopsis: Throw out everything you know about history. Close the approved textbooks, turn off the corporate mass media, and whatever you do don't believe anything you hear from the government- The Rise of The Fourth Reich reveals the truth about American power. In this explosive new book, the legendary Jim Marrs, author of the underground bestseller Rule by Secrecy, reveals the frighteningly real possibility that today the United States is becoming the Fourth Reich, the continuation of an ideology thought to have been vanquished more than half a century ago. This concept may sound absurd to those who can not see past the rose-colored spin, hype, and disinformation poured out daily by the mass media congloomerates- most of which are owned by the very same families and corporations that supported the Nazis in WW2. But as Marrs precisely

My Bookish Life: Winter Book Unhaul

I'm going to be honest I need to do something with some of my books that way I will have room for new books. I've thought about it and decided to do book unhauls every so often maybe once a season. With that being said the following items are being donated to my local library later this afternoon.              Reason for unhauling: I went through my collection recently and realized I had two copies of this book.       Reason for unhauling it: I liked the books but, I ended up not really liking the movies. So yeah I'm ok with letting go of this I want miss it.       Reason for unhauling it: When I picked up this comic I thought it might be interesting. Then I ended up not reading it and at this point I just don't see myself picking it up . Reason for unhauling it: I liked this comic series at first but , then I just lost interest and ended up not sticking with it. Reason for unhauling: I got thes

My Bookish Life Book Review: Sleep Writer

Title: Sleep Writer                  Author: Keith Robinson                 Genre: YA, Sci-fi                  Pages: 206                  Rating: 4 stars          Synopsis: What if you could warn yourself in advance about visitors from other worlds? That's what Madison does. She is the Sleep Writer.          Everything changes for 12 year old Liam when a girl moves next door. Madison is 15, pretty, and much weirder than she seems. Sometimes when she's sound asleep, she scrawls messages on a notepad by her pillow. She finds these cryptic words when she wakes the next morning- a time and a place. But for what?    Liam and his best friend Ant join her when she goes hunting around a cemetery late one night, and life is never the same again. My thoughts on the book: I thought this was a decent start to a series. I think younger readers would probably be really entertained by it. Something I think I might do is give it to my son when he gets older.
