Book Review: The Troop

Title: The Troop            Author: Nick Cutter
                    Pages: 511                    Genre: Horror
                    Rating : 5 stars

Synopsis: Once a year Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boy scouts into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip. It's a tradition that's as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfire. But when an unexpected intruder stumbles upon their campsite- shockingly thin, disturbingly pale, and voraciously hungry- Tim and the boys are exposed to something far  more frightening than any tale of terror . A horror that spreads faster than fear. A harrowing struggle for survival with no escape from the elements, the infected, or each other.

My thoughts on the book: I absolutely loved it ! I may have found a new favorite author and I for sure want to check out more of Nick Cutters books. It's been a few days since I've read The Troop now and the book has stuck with me and I keep thinking about it. That's one of the reasons why I've got to give the book 5 stars..

I have to state as a warning that this book does contain a decent amount of body horror in it. Since the book is a horror story I mean this as a complement to the author but, I found those parts of the book to be very disgusting! They left me with a very uneasy nauseous feeling. However, I think the author meant to make the reader feel that way.

It's effected me more than most recent horror stories. I've thought about it for days and I still feel disgusted by it. Because of all of this I have to give the book 5 stars.
