Good morning ! How are all of you doing? I hope you all are having a good Memorial Day . I'm going to be having lots of fun latter. Kiddo is going to get to swim in his pool some and I am going to tan. Then we are going to my husbands parents for a cookout. For now though , while everybody else is asleep I want to work on my blog. So lets get this review started! Title: The Silence of The Lambs Author: Thomas Harris Genre: Horror Pages: 367 Rating: 5 stars     Synopsis: A young FBI trainee. An evil genius locked away for unspeakable crimes. A plunge into the darkest chambers of a psychopath's mind- in the deadly search for a serial killer. My thoughts on the book: Ok I just have to say it was my favorite read of the month for May! This book might even make it into my yearly top 10! I love both horror and crime stories and this book is an amazingly good combination of both. I have watched the movie before but, I had never read the book until now . I do think the b...

My Bookish Life: Book Review: Illuminated Poems

Good morning everyone! How are you all doing this morning? I hope all of you are having a good morning. I have my coffee ready and I'm excited to write this review so lets do this! Title: Illuminated Poems Author: Allen Ginsberg  Artist: Eric Drooker Genre: Poetry Pages: 144 Rating: 3 stars    Synopsis: Illuminated Poems is the collaboration between two visionaries from different generations: Beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Eric Drooker , an artist of the metropolis whose images reflect life at the turn of the millennium. Illuminated Poems contains two previously unpublished works, an introduction by Allen Ginsberg and 34 poems written between 1948 - 1996 including Howl in it's entirety .   My thoughts on the book: I thought this book was just ok over all. I just don't think some of the poems picked for this were some of Ginsberg's best writings. Howl was good, it always is, and I liked Capital Air but, a lot of the others just fall flat. Most...

My Bookish Life: Bar and Book Case Tag

Hello folks how are you guys? I totally want to have some fun tonight so I want to do what sounds like a totally fun book tag on the blog . The tag I'm doing is the Bar and Book Case book tag . How the tag works is that there are several different alcoholic drinks listed and there is a book prompt to go with every listed drink. This is kind of like a book recommendation list too.        Since this post is alcohol related and I want to have some fun tonight I'm also having a drink while I create this post.      I'm drinking a wine called 19 Crimes. It says it's a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm not really a wine drinker so I don't know if this is a red wine or anything like that . I have been wanting to try 19 Crimes for awhile now though because I'm a fan of true crime and all of their wine labels have this augmented reality thing where you can use your phone to scan the label and the gu...

For this space I texted my friend Mary and let her pick me a book to read . So this is what she picked!          Let's Spend The Night Together : Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Super Groupies by Pamela Des Barres.  I should like this one I normally like rock star stories. My Bookish Life: April Reading Wrap Up

Hello you guys! I hope you are having a good morning. I know I said that I would post my April Reading Wrap Up last night but I ended up watching a movie and then falling a sleep. Everybody else is still asleep so I thought I would post my reading wrap up before everybody else wakes up. So I have a big cup of coffee made and I'm ready to go lets do this! 1. Liberty Defined : 50 Essential Issues That Define Our Freedom Author: Ron Paul Genre: Non-fiction Pages: 328 Rating: 4 stars      This was the first book I read this month. I really liked it a lot. This book was interesting for sure . I really like Ron Paul's thoughts on us having an actual free market system. Mr. Paul was my pick for president when he ran and I still think he would've been the best pick.  2. Title: Rosemary's Baby Author: Ira Levin Genre: Horror Pages: 245 Rating: 5 stars    The second book I read this month is Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin. I really loved this book. It was one of...

Hello everybody! How are you all doing? I have had an alright day myself and I hope all of you have had a good day too. It's actually been a pretty calm day at this house and I managed to do a lot of reading.   I just finished Dreams of A Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole. As a lot of you know it was part of my April TBR. So now I'm here with my review! Title: Dreams of A Dark Warrior Author: Kresley Cole Genre: Romance/Smut  Pages: 515 Rating: 4 stars Synopsis: Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan The Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities , yet with no memories of his past lives.      My thoughts on the book: I read this because I drew the least favorite genre chance card . I'm glad I took the chance because even though romance is my least favorite genre I did like this book. It's story is actually decently good.     Incase you may not like this type of thing , because a ...
