My Bookish Life Book Review : The Silence of The Lambs

Good morning ! How are all of you doing? I hope you all are having a good Memorial Day . I'm going to be having lots of fun latter. Kiddo is going to get to swim in his pool some and I am going to tan. Then we are going to my husbands parents for a cookout. For now though , while everybody else is asleep I want to work on my blog. So lets get this review started!

Title: The Silence of The Lambs
Author: Thomas Harris
Genre: Horror
Pages: 367
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: A young FBI trainee. An evil genius locked away for unspeakable crimes. A plunge into the darkest chambers of a psychopath's mind- in the deadly search for a serial killer.

My thoughts on the book: Ok I just have to say it was my favorite read of the month for May! This book might even make it into my yearly top 10! I love both horror and crime stories and this book is an amazingly good combination of both. I have watched the movie before but, I had never read the book until now . I do think the book was better than the movie ! Isn't that how it almost always goes?

Ok so, Hannibal Lecter is one scary guy. He is pretty smart and can get a read on people really easily. Plus, he has a taste for human flesh! Overall he is a very chilling character.

Then , there is Buffalo Bill . The FBI is trying to use Hannibal to get info to catch Buffalo Bill. Buffalo Bill abducts young ladies and kills them. He also has an interest in human flesh but it's for different reasons than Hannibal's. Lets just say he is making himself a custom outfit! Yes, Buffalo Bill is one sick puppy!

This book actually has a strong lead female character that is also believable . Her name is Clarice Starling and she is an FBI trainee. I like her character because she can be relatable . Out of all the characters in the book she seems the most realistic. Well her and Jack Crawford both actually.

The story sucks you in so it's a very chilling but easy read! Thomas Harris did an extremely good job with this story overall . It doesn't really get slow or boring . I for one want to check out the rest of the Hannibal series! I can't say enough good things about this book! I have to give it 5 stars! It's a horror classic for a reason!

That's it for this reading update! If you have read this book please leave your thoughts in the comments so we can discuss it. Also, if you happen to like my content please give my blog a follow! I will be back later with my May Reading Wrap Up and June TBR. Happy Memorial Day I will talk to you all again soon!
