My Bookish Life Book Review: Sandman

Hello and good morning to you all! I hope all of you have been doing good here recently . I've been good I've just been really busy . So it's been awhile since I have posted a book review on here and that's just because I have been really busy with life in general. Hopefully you all will start to hear more from me soon though.

I have been meaning to post this book review for awhile now. This is just the first opportunity I have gotten to actually do it . I love the Sandman series so I hope this turns out really good . So lets get this thing started !

Title: The Annotated Sandman Volume 1
Author: Neil Gaiman
Pages: 560
Genre: Graphic Novel
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: Meet the Endless, a family of immortals that govern all aspects of life and death throughout the universe. However, one of their own lays captured- Dream, The Lord of Sleep .As Dream makes his escape and returns to his duties after 70 years of imprisonment he encounters countless characters from myth, legend, and comics.

My thoughts on the book : I really like  the story Sandman tells . It's a really good one and I would recommend it if you like high fantasy . I love Neil Gaiman's writing so it shouldn't really be a surprise that I like this one .

The Annotated version is really beautiful ! The cover is designed very beautifully and I like the layout on the inside. On the inside the comics are in the center and all of the additional information that's been added for this version is on the sides of the page . It's a really good layout !

Since this is the annotated version it contains all of this additional info which I like. It's a bit like watching the directors cut of a favorite movie with the commentary turned on but, in a book format . I really like Neil Gaiman and The Sandman series though so I found that really enjoyable .

Mr. Gaiman did a really good job with The Sandman series . I love the story it's very imaginative . It's really high fantasy so it's good to read as an escape from your daily life.

I think the characters in this are very interesting too . My favorite character has to be Death . She is just an all around awesome character and really fun to read ! My second favorite character might be either Dream or Rose Walker I just think both of them are very interesting characters .

So all in all I have to give the book 5 stars ! I really enjoy the atmosphere of the story and obviously the story itself . Plus, it has very interesting characters. I would recommend this book to anybody that's a fan of high fantasy!

That's it for this reading update! If you like my content please give my blog a follow ! I will be back later with my tbr for July ! I hope you all enjoyed the review and goodbye for now I will talk to you all again later !
