My Bookish Life Book Review: Billy Summers

Hello and how are you all doing? I hope all of you had a good day. I had a pretty good day. My kiddo and I went to town and did some shopping and then we came home and I did some cleaning and reading. So yeah overall I had a good day ! Now, I want to work on my blog before I go to bed so lets do this! I think this is going to be a good review because I had some pretty strong feelings about this book.

Title: Billy Summers
Author: Stephen King
Genre: I think I would say Action actually.
Pages: 528
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: Billy Summers is a man in a room with a gun. He's a killer for hire the best in the business. But
he'll only do the job if the target is truly a bad guy. And now Billy wants out . But first there is one last hit. Billy is among the best snipers in the world, a decorated Iraq war vet, a Houdini when it comes to vanishing after his job is done. So what could possibly go wrong? How about everything?

My thoughts on the book: At first I didn't think I was going to care to much for it but then I ended up loving it. It drew me in overtime. The more I read the better the story got.

I thought it was pretty vivid and I could picture it in my mind easily. There were some characters I didn't like right away but they grew on me like Alice for example. I didn't like her at first actually I thought she was kind of annoying but, she grew on me overtime. I did very much like the character of Billy Summers. He was interesting and he had a pretty good backstory .

One draw back to the story, was that I didn't like the Trump bashing. It somewhat took me out of the story but, only a little bit . I kind of learned to ignore it and was able to stay into the store because I cared for the characters.

The back half starts to really get good. That's where the story really picks up and it goes through a few twists and turns. Some of the major. I will say the ending was brilliant and came close to bringing a tear to my eye. It had a better ending than most of the books I have read here recently!

Something else I liked, is all of the connections in this book. This book is very much connected to the Stephen King universe and books like The Shining and The Dark Tower. Since I have read a lot of his books I really appreciated that.

Overall, I think it was one of the better books I have read this year and will for sure be on my top ten books of the year this year.  I would highly recommend it because of all the very different feelings it gave me. That's why I have to give the book 5 stars!

That's it for this reading update! I have also finished reading The World's Most Haunted Places by Time Life Magazine and I will post a review for it tomorrow. If you have read this book please leave your thoughts in the comments. Also, if you happen to like my content please subscribe to my blog. That's it for now , I will talk to you all again tomorrow!
