My Bookish Life Book Review: We Sold Our Souls

Hello and how are you guys doing? I hope you all had a good day! I had a pretty good day myself. My husband and I did some more decorating for Halloween. We are almost done we just have a little bit more decorating to do. Then, we went to his parents for dinner which was really nice.

I have to work tomorrow so I want to finish out today by posting a book review that I have been wanting to publish for a minute. I just got me some milk and I'm ready to get into this book review. I hope it turns out to be a really good read because I really like this book!

Title: We Sold Our Souls
Author: Grady Hendrix
Genre: Horror
Pages: 337
Rating: 5 stars!!!

Synopsis: In the 1990s, heavy metal band Durt Wurk was poised for breakout success-but then lead singer Terry Hunt embarked on a solo career and rocketed to stardom as Koffin, leaving his former bandmates to rot in rural Pennsylvania.

Two decades later, former guitarist Kris Pulaski works as the night manager of a Best Western- she is tired, broke, and unhappy. Everything changes when she discovers a shocking secret from her heavy metal past: Turns out that Terry's meteoric rise to success may have came at the price of Kris's very soul!

My thoughts on the book: I loved it! This is the first legit 5 star read I have had in awhile. I was in a bit of a reading slump but, I think this book pulled me out of it! I think Grady Hendrix is quickly becoming one of my favorite horror authors!

This is a very fast and really fun read! I love the humor in this book too. Honestly, I would love to see this book turned into a movie but, I don't know how that could realistically happen.

The pacing is done really well in this book. There is never really a slow point in this book. It was also very vivid. It was easy to see the whole thing playing out in my head.

I enjoyed the story a whole lot too. I feel like this whole plot could have easily been very generic but, there are some twists that Grady Hendrix added that makes it something other than a basic we sold our souls plot. It's a bit more complicated than that and I liked that part!

This has to be one of the best books I have read in awhile and for that reason, I am giving it five stars! It's a very fast paced, fun, and thrilling ride! I would recommend to people who are fans of metal music and the horror genre.

Side note: I have recently opened up my own pango bookstore! I'm going to have a mix of all kinds of books and sometimes I will be selling the books that I review on this blog on my pango. If you would like to check that out go here: Browse books from thialamathis. (pangobooks.com) .

That's it for this reading update! If you like my content please give my blog a like and a follow. If you have read We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix please leave your thoughts in the comments and lets discuss the book. I will be back soon with a review of The First Commandment by Brad Thor. Goodbye!
