My Bookish Life Book Review: The Eyes of The Dragon

Hello everybody ! How are you all doing? I hope you all are enjoying the day. I have had a pretty good one. I have been enjoying the nice weather and I had a really good lunch. So yeah I have been pretty happy today! Kiddo is asleep right now so I want to try to get this review up while that's happening. So lets do this!

Title: The Eyes of The Dragon
Author: Stephen King
Genre: Fantasy
Pages: 226
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: A Kingdom is in turmoil as the old King dies , murdered by a strange and horrible poison. While the land of Delain mourns, the evil wizard Flagg, hatches an unscrupulous plot, which sees the King's eldest son imprisoned and the youngest son inheriting the throne. Only Peter knows the truth about his innocence and he is also the only person who can save Delain.

My thoughts on the book: I loved this one! I think this is my first true 5 star read of the year. This story draws you in really fast and the world is pretty vivid .

The story itself is a rather simple one but , it's still very good. Mr. King did a very good job of building the world and these characters so everything is pretty easy to imagine.  I heard that this story was going to be adapted into a series by Hulu before Covid hit and I think maybe that's been canceled now but, I hope somebody else gives it a chance because it's for sure worthy of a series.

I'm pretty positive this story connects to Stephen King's Dark Tower series in more ways than one and that's one of my favorite book series ever so I really like that. While the character development is pretty good in this book, the book is able to develop it's characters while keeping a decent pace and it doesn't really slow down or get boring. There isn't really anything in this story that I would just call filler everything in this story has a purpose.

For those reasons I'm giving this book 5 stars! It was a really good read with a vivid world and vivid characters. It was easy to get into and the story keeps an excellent pace . I really hope this gets adapted into a series eventually!

That's it for this reading update. If you like my content please give my blog a follow! As always if you have read this book leave your thoughts in the comments! I will be back soon with my March Reading Wrap Up , another book review, and my April TBR.  I will talk to you all then! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
