My Bookish Life : Graphic Novel Spotlight

Hello everybody! How are you guys doing ? I hope you all are having a good day . Mine has been good so far . I had my mom over to help me clean house . We had a good time today . Now I'm tired but, I want to work on my blog some.

I have to say I really like Preacher so I think this will be a pretty good review and I hope you guys like it. I hope my love of Preacher turns this into a pretty good review even though I try to leave spoilers out of it.  With that being said lets get to this review!

Title: Preacher
Author: Garth Ennis
Artist: Steve Dillon
Pages: 160
Genre: Graphic Novel
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: At first glance, the Reverend Jesse Custer doesn't look like anybody special- just another small-town minister slowly losing both his flock and his faith. But he is about to come face-to-face with proof that god does exist . Merging with a bizarre spiritual force called Genesis , Jesse now possesses the power of "the Word" an ability to make people do whatever he mutters. He begins a violent and riotous journey across the country in search of the elusive deity.

My thoughts on the book: I absolutely love Preacher, this is a reread for me just so you guys know. Preacher is actually one of my favorite comic books . It's strange, it's wild, and as long as you aren't easily offended it's hilarious!

I love the story the comics tell . It's an extremely wild ride that goes to Texas, Louisianan, Heaven and pretty much everywhere in between. It's one hell of a strange road trip and I love it! You also meet some very strange characters along the way,

Since I said that, lets talk about some of the characters . I guess we have to start with Jesse Custer. Jesse is a small town Reverend and I guess you could say he has a bit of a John Wayne complex. That being said he is both a very moral and likable.

Next we have to talk about Tulip. She is Jesse's love interest . However, in a lot of ways she is so much more than that. In away she helps Jesse keep himself in check when he gets "the Word". She isn't really a favorite character of mine but, I can see why a lot of people like her.

Now we get to talk about my favorite character Cassidy. He has been a vampire for centuries and I think that fuels a lot of his craziness because, with the exception of sunlight to an extent, he has lived his life without boundaries for all of these years . That being said, because of that Cassidy isn't the best person but his overall story makes me like his character.

You run into lots of interesting characters on this road trip like Eugene for example but, the ones we just talked about are the main three. So now to go back and focus on the story a bit more, those three go on a road trip to find god and it's one of the strangest stories you will ever read.

Also, I love the artwork that Steve Dillon done on the series. I have to say it's absolutely beautiful and the story wouldn't be the same without it. It also makes the story really easy to get into. It helps the story play like a movie in your head.

I have to conclude this review by saying I absolutely love Preacher , so there really is only one rating I can give it and that's 5 stars! I would like to thank Garth Ennis for taking me on one of the strangest journeys I have ever been on. I would recommend this if you like out of the ordinary stories that are one hell of a ride.

That's it for this reading update. If you have read Preacher please leave your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss this! Also, if you happen to like my content please subscribe to my blog. I have started reading Halo : The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund. I hope you all have a good night and I will talk to you all again soon!
