My Bookish Life Book Review: Nothin But A Good Time

Hello and how are you guys! I hope all of you have been good ! I've been alright , I have just been really busy and that's why it's been awhile since I have talked to you guys. My life has been a little crazy!

That being said I'm finally ready to do another book review! I have been looking forward to this for awhile because I have such fun working on my blog and talking to you guys! I have missed this ! So now, lets get to talking about the book!

Title: Nothin But A Good Time
Authors: Tom Beaujour & Richard Bienstock
Genre: Non-fiction
Pages: 535
Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis: Hard rock in the 1980's was a hedonistic and often intensely creative wellspring of escapism that perfectly encapsulated- and maybe even helped define- a spectacularly over the top decade . Indeed, fist-pumping hits like Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls," and
Guns N' Roses "Welcome To The Jungle" are as inextricably linked to the era as Pac-Man and E.T.

From the do-or-die early days of self-financed recordings and D.I.Y concert productions that were as flashy as they were fool-hardy, to the multi-platinum , MTV-powered glory years of stadium-shaking anthems and chart-topping power ballads , to the ultimate crash when bands like Nirvana forever altered the entire climate of the business . Nothin But A Good Time captures the energy and excess of the hair metal years in the words of the musicians , managers, producers, engineers, label executives, publicists, stylists, costume designers, photographers, journalists, magazine publishers, video directors, club bookers , roadies, groupies, and hangers-on who lived it.

My thoughts on the book: This was a fun and interesting read! I did enjoy it a lot. I was in the mood for Rock N Roll stories and this gave me that ! A lot of the stories I already knew but, some I didn't and it is still nice to have them all collected in one book!

The huge negative for me is that with it being written in an interview style a lot of it started to blend together. That's why despite liking the book I can't give it over 3.5 stars .  However, it was still a good read.

There is a lot of positives about the book though. The stories that are told are really good and interesting. You learn a lot about the bands and how that whole scene happened. I loved reading about that kind of thing that was fun and interesting!

Also, I have to say this book is very beautifully designed . I love the cover it's really cool ! There is also a really nice set of photos of the bands inside the book and that's a huge positive . I just really like the design of the book overall .

I would recommend this book if you like 80s rock music. This would make a good present for any fan ! Overall, it was a fun read !

That's it for this reading update ! I hope you all enjoyed the review . I had fun writing it ! I'm going to start reading The First 21 by Nikki Sixx and I will be back with a review of it soon. I have been looking forward to reading it. If you happen to like my content please give my blog a follow. That's it for now I will talk to you all again soon . Goodbye!
