My Bookish Life Book Review: Asylum

Hello and how are you guys today ? I hope you are all doing ok . I had an alright day. Kevin (my husband) and I did some running around and went to Logan's for lunch. I'm starting to feel better and less sore from my car crash which is a good thing ! We still don't know how much we are going to get back on the car though so we haven't started car shopping yet.

I want to try to get caught up on all the blog work I haven't been able to do . I'm kind of looking forward to this review . I hope it's a good one . I'm going to go get myself a drink and then we will get started !

1. Title: Asylum
Author: Madeleine Roux
Genre: YA Horror
Pages: 317
Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis: For 16 year old Dan Crawford , New Hampshire College Prep is more than a summer program -- it's a lifeline . An outcast at his high school, Dan is excited to make some friends during his last summer before college. But when he arrives at the program, Dan learns that his dorm for the summer used to be a sanatorium, more commonly known as an Asylum. And not just any asylum it was a last resort for the criminally insane !

My thoughts on the book: Ok this was a cool read ! I'm interested in continuing the series for sure ! Even though it's YA horror it has some pretty intense moments . This book is just cool overall.

I liked the story and found it pretty interesting in general . I have some theories about what is actually happening at the Asylum and I want to know if they are accurate. Maybe the teens are actually insane ? I don't know but it would be an interesting twist. I for sure don't think they are reliable narrators.

Something I liked about this book is the inclusion of the photographs and the pictures of the letters.  The pictures are pretty creepy and seeing the letters is pretty interesting. I liked how all of those were mixed in !

I also liked the characters . They seemed pretty believable . My favorite character might be Jordan I think. I just liked his personality !

I would recommend this one to horror fans . It's a fun and easy read and the layout involving the pictures and everything is really cool ! I'm going to give it 3.5 stars and I for sure want to check out the next book in the series !

That's it for this reading update ! I will be back with my May TBR tomorrow . If you have read this book please leave your thoughts in the comments . Also if you happen to like my content please give my blog a follow . Thanks for reading and I will talk to all of you again soon !
