My Bookish Life Book Review: Paper Girls

Hello and how have you been doing? I hope you have all been good. I know it's been a little bit since I've posted but that's because I have been sick. Mostly it's just been a sinus infection followed by a really sever inner ear infection. I'm finally starting to get better but, I still haven't got all of my hearing back.

I have actually finished my whole February TBR list now I just have to get the reviews wrote. So I'm going to start knocking that out tonight! I'm unwinding with a glass of milk and I want to talk about Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughn. So, let's do this!

Title: Paper Girls Book 1
Author: Brian K. Vaughn
Genre: Graphic Novel
Pages: 320
Rating: 5stars

Synopsis: In the early hours of Halloween 1988, four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls uncover the most important story of all time. Suburban drama and otherworldly mysteries collide in this story about nostalgia, first jobs, and the last days of childhood.

My thoughts on the book: Ok so this was my anniversary/Valentine's gift from my husband. I liked it so he did really good with this one! It's always a win when I get a book as a present!

So I like the story in this graphic novel. I also liked the 80s' nostalgia in the story and how it reads kind of like an 80s' movie. If you are a fan of stuff like that you should check this one out.

The story is really odd but interesting. I will just say a group of 12-year-old girls discover time travel and things that I think are from different universes. I'm really unsure of anywhere the story is going to go in the next book and I love it!

My favorite character is Mackenzie. She is just such an awesome character but, I am a little afraid for her future. I really hope she survives!

This graphic novel is also really beautifully illustrated. It's really colorful and it just looks gorgeous. I love how the book in general is designed though and would recommend buying it. It's a lovely collector's item.

I would recommend this to either fans of the 80s or fans of Stranger Things. I think both types of people would really enjoy reading this book. It was such a fun read I read it in two days because I didn't want to put it down!

I hope you all enjoyed this review. If you have read Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughn, please leave your thoughts in the comments. I hope you all have a good night, and I will talk to you all again later. Goodbye!
