My Bookish Life Book Review: Preacher Book Three

Hello and how are you guys? I have had an eye infection so it's taken me way longer than it should have to finish this book but, the good news is I'm fully recovered! So that's a good thing. I've had a really busy day because I had house cleaning I had to do and stuff . Now, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day off ! I have a cold coffee and I want to talk books so lets do this!

Title: Preacher Book Three
Author: Garth Ennis
Artist : Steve Dillon
Genre: Graphic Novel
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: Jesse Custer continues his dark journey to find God, accompanied by his gun-toting girlfriend and Irish vampire buddy . In the continuing saga of the bizarre adventures of faithless Texas preacher Jesse Custer, Jesse, along with his girlfriend Tulip and their friend Cassidy, the Irish vampire, head down south in hopes of recovering from their encounter with The Grail . But during their planned down time Jesse must face off against an enraged Arseface, who seeks to avenge his fathers death, while Tulip deals with Cassidy's startling declaration of love for her. This book also includes special spotlight stories about the Saint of Killers and Cassidy's first and only encounter with his fellow vampires.

My thoughts on the book: This is another good addition to the Preacher story. It really is a fun read. Also like the previous book , Blood Moon by Joseph Battaglia, it is also a good read for going into the spooky season because of the characters it involves. Although , a good bit of it is really really funny actually.

I like The Saint of Killers backstory that's in this volume. It tells his beginnings and it's actually pretty good I think. It just involves things like love, death angles, and freezing hell over.  The artwork in The Saints story is really good too.  I mean the artwork is awesome during the whole story but, there is some standout drawings in this specific part of the story. This  part of the story alone is worth reading the book for.

You also get introduced to the Les Infants in this volume . They kind of make me think of the movie The Craft but, with vampires instead of witches,. Their lead also has a bit of an Interview With A Vampire feel . It's the story of Cassidy's only experience with fellow vampire's and it's a good fun read.

The story with Arseface really starts to kick off and Jesse has to confront him and he travels with our main group a bit. Jesse ends up doing voodoo to try to figure out what Genesis knows and I don't think that goes how he anticipated. Jesse is written very well in this volume.

Also, through Tulip's story you get some hints about Cassidy;s past. Maybe he isn't a good guy? Could he possibly really hurt both Jesse and Tulip? It's possible that could very well happen . I have already read the comics so I know the story but , I don't want to spoil everything for potential readers.

It's a really good volume in a really good story and that's why I'm giving it five stars! As usual I absolutely love it .  The story is good and hilarious at times and the artwork never disappoints . I would recommend to anyone as long as they aren't easily offended.

That's it for this reading update. I will be back with a review of The Waking tomorrow. If you like my content please subscribe to my blog or give it a follow on Facebook. Also, if you have read Preacher please leave your thoughts in the comments. That's all for now, I hope you all have a good afternoon and I will talk to you all again later . Goodbye!
