My Bookish Life Book Review: Government Bullies

Hello and how are you guys doing? I hope you are good. I've been really good here recently. Not much has actually happened.

So I have to go into work today but, before I do that I want to work on my blog some and get a new review up! I have my coffee and I'm starting to wake up so let's do this! I actually enjoyed the book so I hope my review turns out pretty good!

Title: Government Bullies: How Everyday Americans Are Being Harassed, Abused, and Imprisoned by The FEDS
Author: Rand Paul
Genre: Non-fiction
Pages: 280
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: Government regulations are out of control. They dictate how much water goes into your commode, and how much water comes out of your shower head.shower head. They determine how hot the water should be in your washing machine, and how many miles to the gallon your car must achieve.
Since The Patriot Act, your banking records, your gun registration, and your phone bill are easily accessible by Government snoops. Mothers are arrested for buying whole milk. Families are fined for selling bunny rabbits. Home and property owners are strapped with obscene fined, entangled in costly legal messes, and sent to federal prison , all for moving dirt from one end of their land to another. Unelected bureaucrats, armed with arbitrary rules and no need to back them up, stonewall and attack American citizens at every turn. The damage can be overwhelmingly taxing- financially, emotionally and even physically.

And who is being held accountable? Government regulation and red tape run rampant in Washington, and honest tax-paying citizens are the victims of an administration's misuse and abuse of power. Now, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, takes an in-depth look at the legislation that is trampling the rights of ordinary citizens.

My thoughts on the book: I found this book to be very interesting. In this book Senator Rand Paul tells the stories of American citizens that have been affected by Government over reach in various ways and I think he did a really good job of telling their stories. I would really recommend this book!

Rand talks about several different Government agencies in this book. Some of the agencies involved are the EPA, FDA, and the TSA. So several different topics are covered.

Also, besides just telling their stories he talks about the policies that have gotten us into an over regulated mess. Rand also offers up solutions and ideas about how we can end all of that. Some of them I find to be very interesting.

I will say that if you believe in a small government some of the stories in this book will make you mad. These agencies do some disgusting things to people.  However, the book is still a really good read. That's why I gave it 5 stars!

That's it for this update! I will be back soon with another review . My Children's Spotlight series will be starting soon. Each week I'm going to pick a book out of the ones I have read to my kiddo that week and review it and rather or not it was a good story time experience.

That's it for now ! I hope you all have a good day! If you have read the book leave your thoughts in the comments section. Also, if you happen to like my content please subscribe to my blog.  I will talk to you all again soon!
