My Bookish Life Book Review : Halo : The Fall of Reach

Hello and how are you all doing? I am pretty good myself . I hope you all are doing good. It's been awhile since I talked to you all but, I have been really busy. However, I have a little bit of time to myself this morning so I want to do some of the blog work I have been trying to do . So let's get this review started shall we?

Title: Halo: The Fall of Reach
Author: Eric Nylund
Genre: Fantasy
Pages: 340
 Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: As the bloody Human-Covenant War rages on  Halo, the fate of humankind may rest with one warrior , the lone Spartan survivor of another legendary battle ... the desperate take-no-prisoners struggle that led humanity to Halo- the fall of the planet Reach.

While the brutal Covenant juggernaut sweeps inexorably through space, intent on wiping out humankind, only one stronghold remains - the planet Reach. Practically on Earth's doorstep, it is the last military fortress to defy the onslaught. But the personnel here have another , higher priority:  to prevent the Covenant from discovering the location of Earth.

My thoughts on the book: This is the book my husband picked for me to read. In case you by chance don't know this the Halo video game series also has a book series . This book is the start of the series and from how I understand it like a prequel to the video game series.

I will say it's a pretty decent read. I think it's better than what some readers would think a video game prequel would be. It has a ton of action but, it's not all action it actually has a good bit of story telling and development. I can tell why this is actually one of my husband's favorite books.

So the book follows John aka Spartan 117 aka Master Chief . In this book you get a good bit of his back story like how he got kidnapped when he was a kid . Then you follow him through all of the training and surgeries he was put through to become a Spartan.  Then from that point on into battle.

I liked the book overall. The other characters in the book are really good characters too. One of my favorites is Kelly . She is another Spartan on John's team.

Even though it's fantasy, if you like military stuff you might like this actually. It's just that it has a lot of military elements. . I would also recommend this if you like fantasy or video games of course ! It was an interesting read and pretty detailed . I'm giving it 3 stars!

That's it for this reading update. I'm about to go spend some time with the family! We are taking the kiddo to the park! I will be back later with my July Reading Wrap Up and my August TBR will be posted tomorrow. If you have read this book please leave your thoughts in the comments . Also , if you happen to like my content please subscribe to my blog! That's it for now I will talk to you all later!
