My Bookish Life Book Review: The Boys Omnibus Volume 1

How are you guys doing today? I hope you all had a good day. I had to work today but my day was ok overall. My husband cooked a good dinner for me and the kiddo and I did some studying. Now I'm just unwinding before bed. I want to get this review up and then do some reading. Since January is my birth month I've put together a TBR I really like and I'm looking forward to digging into it but, for now lets do this book review!

Title: The Boys Volume 1
Author: Garth Ennis
Genre: Graphic Novel
Pages: 354
Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis: In a world where costumed heroes soar through the sky and masked vigilantes prowl the night someone's got to make sure the "supes" don't get out of line. And someone will! Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, Mother's Milk, The Frenchman and The Female are The Boys : a CIA backed team of very dangerous people, each one dedicated to the struggle against the most dangerous force on Earth- superpower! Some superheroes have to be watched. Some have to be controlled .  And some of them- sometimes- need to be taken out of the picture. That's when you call in The Boys!

My thoughts on the book: I really like Garth Ennis as a comic writer. However, I wouldn't say that his writing style is for everybody and The Boys is no exception to that. However, if you don't offend easily Garth Ennis is a really good writer.

While I like comics I don't particularly like superhero comics so of course I find The Boys really really  funny actually. I love the humor in it. It's just hilarious and really fun!

This book is a good escape from reality and really entertaining. That's pretty normal with Garth Ennis's comics though. It's part of the reason why I like them. It's good to unwind sometimes!

That's it for this review. If you have read this book please leave your thoughts in the comments. I will be back tomorrow with another book review and my TBR for January. Goodbye for now !
