My Bookish Life Book Review : The Long Walk by Stephen King

Title: The Long Walk Author: Stephen King
                 Genre: Horror   Pages: 321
                 Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis: In the near future, when America has become a police state, one hundred boys are selected to enter an annual contest where the winner will be awarded whatever he wants for the rest of his life. Among them is sixteen-year-old Ray Garraty, and he knows the rules- keep a steady walking pace of four miles per hour without stopping . Three warnings and you're out - permenantly.

My thoughts on the book: I thought it was decent especially since it was actually the first novel Mr. King wrote. It got a little monotonous just because the story is essential following a very long walk. However, it still wasn't that bad.

You can see some of Mr. King's future story telling style in the book which is part of what made it an alright read. I do like how suspenseful some parts where too. However, another issue I had with it was that for me some of the characters blended together and it got hard to tell which one was which.

To me all of this made the book just ok. It wasn't the best book I've ever read but, it wasn't the worst it was just ok. For my rating I'm giving it 3.5 stars. That's it for today , I hope you all have a wonderful evening and if you like my content please follow my blog!
