My Bookish Life Book Review: I Survived : The Sinking of The Titanic

Title: I Survived : The Sinking of The Titanic
Author: Lauren Tarshis
Genre: Graphic Novel
Pages: 157
Rating : 2.5 stars

Synopsis: Ten year old George Caldwell can't wait to explore every inch of the Titanic, even if his little sister Phoebe has to come with him. But, when George sneaks away without her and ventures into the first class baggage room, a terrible boom shakes the entire boat. Suddenly, water is everywhere and George's life changes forever.

My thoughts on the book: It was ok for what it is. I'm trying to keep in mind that it's a children's book and I'm not it's intended audience so I don't judge it too harshly.  It's a super quick read.

One thing I liked about it is the art work. The artwork on the inside is really pretty and has a decent amount of detail. However, that doesn't make up for the bad things about this book.

The stuff I didn't like about this book was that I felt the story was rushed and the characters could have been better developed.  I just felt like if the book would have followed the characters for a few days before the sinking happened and you got to know them better you would care more about if the characters lived or died once the sinking started. Instead of the story building up like that you follow the characters the day the sinking happens.
That's the reason why I can only give the story 2.5 stars.

That's it for this update. If you have read this book leave your thoughts in the comments. If you like my content please give my blog a follow ! I hope you all have a nice day I will talk to you guys later.
