My Bookish Life Book Review: Wolves of The Calla

Hello everybody ! How are you guys? I have a few minutes of peace here so I thought I would post my book review . A lot of work went into this post so I hope you all enjoy it.

Title: Wolves of The Calla : Dark Tower V
Author: Stephen King
Genre: Fantasy
Pages: 714
Rating: 3.5 stars

Synopsis: Roland and his Ka-tet have just returned to the path of the Beam when they discover that they are being followed by a group of inexperienced trackers. The trackers are from the town of Calla Brin Sturgis,  and they are in desperately need the help of gunslingers.  Once every generation,  a band of masked riders know as the Wolves gallop out of the dark land of Thunderclap to steal one half of all the twins born in the Calla's . When the children are returned they are front, or mentally and physically ruined.  In less than a  month, the Wolves will raid again. Not only must the Ka-tet discover a way to defeat the Wolves, but they must also return to New York so that  they can save our worlds incarnation of the Dark Tower from the machinations evil Sombra Corporation.

My thoughts on the book: Upon rereading this one I don't think it's as good as the previous one in the series. However, it's still a very solid read. The characters are pretty realistic and the world building is very good.

Also, if you like Salem's Lot you really should read this. A certain character from Salem's Lot appears in this book. The character tells what I think is a really good story to our main Ka-tet and it tells the readers what has happened to this character after leaving Salem's Lot. This character also helps our main Ka-tet.

Most of this story is about our characters preparing for battle against the Wolves. So it talks alot about the politics of that, and finding the fighters, training, stuff like that. They also have to figure out who is spying for the Wolves.

However, even though a lot of the book is about preparing for battle, the actual battle goes by so quickly. The battle is actually an extremely small part of the book. Even though it is small though, I think if you are a Star Wars fan you will love it.

The battle being so small is part of the reason why I'm only giving the book 3.5 stars. It was a bunch of build up that led to an extremely small battle. That being said though the book is still a decent read.

Dark Tower Art I Made Recently:
This is a picture of Eddie that I just finished. I'm trying to get better at drawing people. I think this is one of my better paintings though.
