My Bookish Life Book Review: Preacher book 5

Hello ! How are you guys? I hope you are all doing good. My husband and I took our kiddo to the Christmas Parade last night and that was really fun. It was pretty cute! The kiddo had a really good rime! After that I read a Christmas story to my kiddo when we got home before going to bed!

I have to work today bur, before I go in I want to work on my blog some. I have had breakfast and I'm drinking my coffee so I'm ready to do this! Let's get started!

Title: Preacher; Small Town Blues Book 5
Author: Garth Ennis
Artist: Steve Dillon
Genre: Graphic Novel
Pages: 364
Rating : 5 stars

Synopsis:  Preacher Jesse Custer's dark journey to find God  , accompanied by his gun-toting girlfriend  Tulip and Irish vampire buddy, continues as Jesse becomes the sheriff of a small but troubled Texas town. After doing some soul searching he decides it's time to continue his quest to find God and hold him accountable for his actions . But before he can continue down that path, he must reunite with his girlfriend Tulip.

My Thoughts On The Book: I really liked this volume. The story telling in it is really strong in this volume and the artwork is really good too. I read most of it in a day !

I have to go back to the story telling in this volume. Like I said it's very good. You get several different types of stories too. Jesse's small town sheriff story is a bit like a western but, you also get a war story because you learn more about Jesse's dad and his time in Vietnam.  You also learn a bit about Tulip and her childhood which adds a little bit of drama. I even liked the smaller background stories in this!

I have to say that if I could pick some music to go with this book I would pick pretty much any Johnny Cash. I don't know what that tells people about the story but, I just think it would go perfectly. That's the kind of music this story makes me think of.

Jesse and Tulip are the two huge main characters in this part of the story, they have to be. Cassidy is in it but not to the extent of the other two . He is more of a background character in this part. However, what does happen with him really isn't good at all . I mean his character not how the story is written . However, it sets up his next character arc pretty well so there is that.

I really liked the story telling in this volume so I have to give it 5 stars! It's just really really good. I don't feel like I can say that enough! I highly recommend the Preacher series in general!

That's it for this reading update! If you have read the book please leave your thoughts in the comments . Lets discuss Preacher it will be fun! If you like my content please give my blog a follow! That's it for now I will most likely be back Sunday with my reading stats for the year and maybe a book review for Preacher book 6. That's all for now , I hope you all have a good day ! Goodbye!
